So I ask you, regardless of party affiliation...
Am I wrong?
Dear [Red],
Are you ready to build the Democratic Party? Do you want to be part of an organizing machine that competes in every precinct of every county in every state? Do you want to help Democrats win in 2006 and beyond?
On November 15, thousands of Democrats will gather around the country and take part in our National Organizing Kickoff. During this event, Democrats will gather in communities across America for a night of grassroots action. Governor Dean will host a conference call and brief everyone on the progress of the Democratic Party's 50-state strategy.
All you need to do is show up. Find an event in your community and signup to attend by visiting:

These meetings will be an incredible opportunity to become a leader of the Democratic Party in your neighborhood. In order to compete in every state we need leaders in every precinct. You demanded a party that works from the grassroots up -- now is your chance to be a part of that movement.
We cannot wait until the last minute to start organizing for 2006 -- we need to start now. It is vital that everyone who cares about the future of our party plays an active role in building it. Find an organizing meeting in your area and RSVP by visiting:

Don't pass up your chance to be a part of our 50-state strategy from the start. This is an event you don't want to miss.
Thank you,
Tom McMahon
Executive Director
Democratic National Committee
P.S. -- Don't miss Governor Dean on NBC's 'Meet the Press' this Sunday -- check your local listings for the time in your area.

What do you mean am *I* ready? I have always been here, and I have always been ready. I have been a passionate and active member of the voting populace. I have participated in the election process of my country every single year since I was 18. I am now 44.
But tell me this. What incentive do you give me now to "build the Democratic Party"? I see very little beyond chest pounding rhetoric. I see elected democrats lay down and die in committee even now, even with Bush's popularity at less than 40%. I see Democratic members of key committees pass his unqualified cronies into jobs that DIRECTLY impact my daily life as a living, breathing citizen of this country.
I see no coherent message. "We're right and they're wrong" and "We told you so" do not qualify as cohesive messages.
I am in danger of being disenfranchised as a party member. Not as a citizen, oh no. I will never give up my right to participate in the government for the people. But what are the people to do when the parties they are left with issue empty challenges that they as the party have no intention of fulfilling or living up to?
Is the Democratic party ready to build up the marginalized and disenfranchised American voting public who wants change, only to see it trod upon again and again?
Answer me that Tom, and I will consider just how much sweat and tears I put into 'building' a Democratic party that I have sweat and cried over and built and built until my fingers bleed and my heart aches, since 1980.
