Forecaster Mark Strobin said a high pressure area was moseying into the Bay Area from the deserts of Southern California and Arizona.

Coastal areas will be cooler, with a few wisps of morning fog hampering the sun's plans to get into the swing of August.

San Francisco temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s today and tomorrow. That's about 30 degrees cooler than the other side of the East Bay hills, which means that it's a good idea for San Franciscans to stay put, not budge and get in some practice for the Bay Bridge closure over the Labor Day weekend.

None of the weather had anything to do with the lunar eclipse, which ended at 5:24 a.m., allowing the sun to resume devoting full attention to its normal duties.
