So without a hint of real summer, we are currently braced for our first significant rainstorm of the season a month before we would normally expect it to take place. A tropical depression (fragments there of) has blown in from Baja and the gulf. About a half hour ago my boss called from Fremont to say the lightening around his house was so close and so threatening he'd already unplugged all his electrics, including his computer.

At that point I decided to head home a little early. It's a 4 block walk from the bus stop to my cottage. I didn't feel like being struck by lightening en-route. Now home, a quick walk for the dork dog while it's dry and I'm braced for a storm. Not only do we get rain but we get also thunder and lightening...a rare occurrence here bayside, tho common enough in the Sierras and parts of the central valley.

Should be an interesting night. I should probably get candles out...just in case.
