That's what my alarm clock said when I woke, coughing and in pain, and rolled over to look at it. The fact that it was flashing 12:00, 12:00 was a pretty good indication that it was not midnight. No, in fact a quick check and I realized it was 4:30 in the morning. I have no idea when the power went out, but it was on when I woke. I've been up since. Dottie seemed a little confused to be getting a walk at 5am. She was more than a little annoyed at the dark and the rain, but we took our morning walk. I came home and made more tea, coughed up my toenails, winced and swore (croaked) and eventually got dressed and came into work early. My paperwork, including my temporary membership info for Kaiser, was on my desk. I now have an 11am appointment with a doctor to look at my ears and my throat. I just have to survive until then! Yah me.
Other than this damned throat I don't feel that bad. I have no raging fever. The ear ache comes and goes. The cough is annoying but not horrible. But *OUCH* my throat hurts! (whine!)
I'm not sure if I'll return to work after the doctor's appointment, but probably.
In other news, I found this little blurb about The Daily Kos. He says some really important things for liberals to hear whether they want to or not. Such as:
Pardon me while I go for more hot tea. I have to keep this throat moist or it drives me crazy.

Liberals, especially those in the Democratic Party, are mired in their 1970s glory days and woefully out of touch. The party is light years behind its Republican counterparts in organization and is being pulled limb from limb in a tug-of-war between its single-issue constituencies such as abortion-rights advocates, environmentalists and African Americans.
