Moon Madness

Tomorrow is the full moon, but if you didn't know that you could be forgiven for thinking it's already full. I walked the dork dog tonight and staggered about with my neck craned back looking at the moon. There was a large halo around it (much like you see here). It seemed as if I were looking up at the business end of a giant flashlight, or as if I could see the perfectly round 'hole in the ozone'; A giant silver eye in the sky.

It was breathtakingly beautiful.

A Moon halo is said to signify bad weather. Well, we do expect rain on Thursday but really, I think tonight's little atmospheric phenomenon was just there to be enjoyed, yet another sign to me this week of a good start to the new year.
