America's religious Right has conceded that the election of US President Barack Obama has sealed its defeat in the cultural war with permissiveness and secularism.

Last week the UK Telegraph posted this article which had among other quotes:

Leading evangelicals have admitted that their association with George W. Bush has not only hurt the cause of social conservatives but contributed to the failure of the key objectives of their 30-year struggle

and
The Rev Joe Morecraft,[...]A deserter from the Republican Party, he said Christians had been corrupted by politics and needed to return to the basics of local social work and preaching the gospel, rather than devoting their “energies to getting a few people elected”.

But I'm not gloating. What I am doing is remembering why I want to hunt up the remains of Madeline Murray O'Hair and kick her squarely in the nuts ovaries. Since I blame HER for the rise of--the politicization of the moral majority in the first place.

I have NO PROBLEM at all with faith based organizations doing local ministry, education and community outreach. I have a SERIOUS problem with them legislating it.
