Freezing rain
Dec. 17th, 2005 04:12 pm...and I am frozen solid. I can barely move and so, the weather has won, even though I still don't have everything quite done yet. I will try again tomorrow, but in the meantime, I have to thaw out. I can't feel my feet.
It probably doesn't help that I nipped two blocks up the street in the rain in cropped yoga pants and slip on shoes with no socks (still in my sweat shirt) to do my spa pedicure and manicure. I can't roll my jeans up to my knees, so I couldn't wear them and still get a foot/ankle massage. By the time I stepped out of there, nearly 2 hours later the temperature had dropped 15 degrees and it was bucketing rain. Even with an umbrella I was wet and shivering like a frog by the time I got home again! That was a long two blocks, let me tell you.
The pedicure is truly my indulgent moment of the day. My feet bubbling furiously in scented, oiled, HOT water. She worked very diligently on my feet and my hands and as such, I feel pampered even as I attempt to thaw myself by the heater. I have the kettle on for coffee WITH whiskey (I need that extra ooomph to beat this chill. The animals are happy I'm home as they know I'll keep the heat on while I'm here.
I also managed to get a few pictures snapped that I wanted and so, while I'm waiting for water to whistle, perhaps I'll download my camera images and twiddle.
