Momentary heart attack
Jun. 10th, 2008 12:51 pmKit's dad left Virginia yesterday to go to Sudan. He used to teach in Southern Sudan at one of the IDP camps. (Internal Displaced Person). When I saw this breaking news on CNN my heart hit my toes and I swore loudly in several languages while reaching for the phone to call Buffy.
I'm relieved to report that Nick arrived safely in Nairobi, Kenya this morning and will be driving into the Southern portion of Sudan. Khartoum is in Northern Sudan. I had no idea, it's the only Sudanese city I know the name of.
While I'm relieved, there will be other families elsewhere in the world who will not have that benefit and for them, I offer prayers.
