A shower done, a second cup of coffee procured and I am relaxing in my newly painted space. The Kelly Moore paint I choose is very rich in color and very low in smell/fumes. I actually had no problems sleeping last night and didn't wake up with the least hint of a headache. I've some touch up spots for this afternoon, but this morning I am relaxing until my 1pm brunch with the Mad Scientist and Kit. (I'm presuming that's still on anyway.) Then I will come home, do the touch up and start putting things away, clearing out the mess, etc. The animals seem happy and content in spite of the chaos. No more mad kitties blitzkrieging through the house spraying things in a retaliation against being MOVED. I think Frankie has finally realized, we're not going anywhere.
I didn't take as much care in the bedroom and I didn't tape down plastic on the floor. Mostly because the bed frame couldn't be moved anywhere. It floated in the middle of the room draped in plastic, and I had another plastic drop cloth I left folded in half and moved around the perimeter of the room as I needed it. All would be well if the dork dog hadn't staggered into smudge of frost paint and scattered little paw prints all over the oak floor. An hour on my knees with a chore-boy and some murphy's oil soap and I had all the spots up. They came up easily along with all the rest of the mystery muck on the floor so now I have some very clean spots and some very dirty spots. I have to even that out soon.
I took before pictures yesterday--especially of that rotten track lighting that was in my bedroom ceiling (mind you this 'bedroom' is actually the dining room) and I'll get some 'in the middle' shots this afternoon. Then, after I get the tape all down and the room re ordered about with the bed (which has to be replaced) and the rug and such...I'll get the after pictures. The cosmetic remodeling is done. All that remains now is decorating! That will take a month or two as I buy the occasional piece and pillow here and there...but when it's all done, I'll be very happy, very content and have a very lush and peaceful space to call my own special haven.
