Wither I go...
Dec. 2nd, 2006 09:15 amIt's Saturday. Saturday is so often errand day, especially on the first of the month. However today is also game day. Today is BigGame day. the 109th game of BigGame day. Blah.blah.blah. I think I've mentioned before, I hate football.
However, this is important to me because; there is not a force sufficient in strength to put me anywhere NEAR downtown Berkeley today. All of Palo Alto--and then some will be converging on us via cars, via Bart, via buses. We have, for this half a day, an influx of people equal to half the resident population of Berkeley and it overwhelms this place!
I remember last year waiting and waiting and waiting for a bus to take me to the bank. Every bus had been co-opted at the BART stations, filled to the brim with red shirted fans and zooming straight to Downtown Berkeley. It took me an hour and a half to get a bus.
So, while I need to go to the bank, I need to go the grocery store, I need to do a half-dozen other errands, I realized, over coffee this morning, just what today will hold and suddenly, the most driving need for me is--going back to bed and having a very long day on Monday taking care of things at the last minute. :)
