Aamused in Austin, TX

So, I just returned home from seeing "Goblet of Fire".

And...having carefully re-read the book before going to the movie I have to say I am disappointed that many critics and fans can do nothing more than piss and moan about all the parts of the book they left out.

Absolutely everything that was essential is in this movie. A lot of the history, and minor subplots are missing, yes, but none of them leave gaping holes of knowledge; not even if you've never read the book. From beginning to end I was utterly charmed.

My only frump about the movie would mirror symian's comment: Michael Gambon needs to decide where Dumbledore is from and which accent he's going to use. Although I found it glaring only once it's still a continuity issue.
***EDITED TO ADD...okay it wasn't Symian...and now I can't find, as I scroll back through my friend's list...though I swear it as an "S" name who said this and my brain added the rest. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. Sorry Symian :)
