A Lovely Thursday
Jan. 5th, 2007 08:57 amThursday morning arrived with cold rain on the raggedy tail-end of a storm. I found I didn't sleep all that well Wednesday night and I was tired. The Enigma picked me up a little before 9am. We went off across the Bay Bridge in the car that goes zoom. While he was getting the car settled I was walking about British Motors going OOOH!! A Bentley!....< touch>...OOOH!!! a Lamborghini...< touch>... Yes, I do like cars. I like luxury cars that float above the road, and I love sleek, low, sexy cars that snarl and go zoom. And so...it was fun for me to walk around and peer in windows and sigh "oooh!! shiny!"
We then just spent a day together, talking, consuming vast quantities of coffee because neither of us had slept well the night before, having breakfast, shopping, strolling, talking. It was wonderful, simple and wonderful. Time spent together with no sense of rush, no urgent queries from the outside world, just us. By mid day the storm was gone and the sunshine returned along with a biting wind. We sat in the sun gazing across the water, drinking yet another steaming cup of coffee. We talked with the worlds largest damn seagull. I kept inquiring to see if it's mother or grandmother had some how had a wild weekend with a Dodo. All in all, I walked nearly 4 miles on a broken toe. Not a bad accomplishment, really.
So here I sit on a Friday. The office promises to be a bit crazy. We're still in the process of re-keying the building. I'm so ready for the weekend and really, I'm in a wonderful mood! We'll see if that changes :)
